St. Petersburg Russian Palaces - The Place of Exquisite Parquetry Works

The small to large compositions (the most expensive parquetry option) are available for visitors. Fortunately some of them do appreciate the floor beneath their feet and take pictures we all can share.

Intricate Parquetry Composition - Cabinet des Miroirs, Château de Maisons-Laffitte, France 17th Century

France, 1630-1651, near Paris. The ”Château de Maisons-Laffitte” has been built by
René de Longueil and his wife Madeleine Boulenc de Crévecœur.
One room of this castle is interesting from our point of view: ”Cabinet des Miroirs”.
This particular round room has a splendid marquetry inlay composition worked in wood, pewter and ivory.
This marquetry work has been restored relative recently.

This image shows the work partially.
